The Twin Summary

The Twin - The instant New York Times bestseller!

In this twisty psychological thriller from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of THE CELLAR, Ivy finds out that her twin sister, Iris, is trying to push her out of her own life--and might be responsible for their mother's death.

After their parents divorced, 10-year-old twins Ivy and Iris were split up--Ivy lived with Dad, Iris with Mom. Now, after a tragic accident takes their mom's life, the twins are reunited and Iris moves in with Ivy and their dad. Devastated over Mom's death, Iris spends the first few weeks in almost total silence--the only person she will speak to is Ivy. Iris feels her life is over and she doesn't know what to do. Ivy promises her twin that she can share her life now. After all, they're sisters. Twins.

It's a promise that Iris takes seriously. And before long, Ivy's friends, her life at school, and her boyfriend, Tyler, fall under Iris's spell. Slowly, Ivy realizes she's being pushed out of her own life. But she's just being paranoid, right? And Mom's accident was . . . just an accident. Right? It's not like she--or Dad--or Tyler--are in any danger. . . .

The Twin Review

  • Hard finishing

    By Bashhleyy
I haven鈥檛 yet finished this one and don鈥檛 know if I ever will. This is such a tough read as far as keeping me engaged. It almost feels like the book is just dragging on and lacking getting to the point. I need to know what happens at the end so hopefully I鈥檒l find the desire to finish.

Ok this book was amazing all and all. The characters were good but the ending really threw me off. I was confused as what happened and would want to know why it ended the way it did? Overall great book ending was just confusing though
  • Ending sucked

I love Natasha. I鈥檝e read most of her books; so, when this one came out I got it without a second thought. The book was great, I just wish it ended differently. It left me feeling like the book was not completely done. (I really hope there is a second part to this eventually). It鈥檚 a really good book, it just left me wanting more.

How do you give me a great book and a twin that has all the answers and that can solve this problem and then ended that way I hate it
  • Insane book

Okay, I Never read any books from this author and before reviewing I just went through some of the reviews and everybody seems to be talking about the ending as well. All throughout this book I just feel upset at the characters and when I got towards the end I just really wanted to know what happened and I couldn鈥檛 stop reading, but I was disappointing on the ending the ending is just really rough. This was the first book that I ever read from Natasha and I don鈥檛 know I feel like the ending should鈥檝e been I would鈥檝e enjoyed it better if it would鈥檝e been different. Don鈥檛 get me wrong it鈥檚 a really good book I don鈥檛 know but when I was reading it when I finish this book it鈥檚 sort of gave me like bates motel( psycho) like that sort of dark kind of stories. If you like books that are intense this books is for you. It was good but not the kind of book I like to read. But it was a good read.

I love Natasha Preston, she is one of my favorite authors, so when I heard she had wrote a new book, I bought it without second thought. This book was different from the others she was written. Like the other reviews say, the ending was... rough. However, I think it is smart if she is planning on writing a second. A few of her other books are the same way, where the story just cannot be finished. This ending is very frustrating. In most of her other books, it is a complete mystery, and you truly don鈥檛 know what is happening, but with this one it is different, so I didn鈥檛 enjoy it as much. If I had never read one of her books, I think I would have enjoyed it much more, because I know she is capable of such great things. She had set the bar so high for herself, and this one didn鈥檛 quite reach the mark. I hope she finishes this story, and the others that have been left unfinished. If this is the first book of hers you have read, please read some of her others, even if you didn鈥檛 love this one. My favorites are The Cellar, The Lost, and You WIll be Mine. Warning though, all of those are a more gruesome than this one. But don鈥檛 let that steer you away.
  • Awful

Waste of time. I normally love Natasha Preston books but this was terrible. So unrealistic and has an open ending, which is irritating. I never leave book reviews but it was that bad

Gotta say, I was a little disappointed with this one. Now I read the back of the book and was intrigued. It started off okay and I was able to figure out the twist before it happened, but that ending was pretty bad and the book didn鈥檛 pull me in like all her others have.

I read the whole book in a matter of hours! It was amazing and I was so excited to get to the end. Until the end ruined the book. It completely changed the mood for me, and the fact that the antagonist completely won over was very upsetting! Unless another book comes out, I will be forever angry at the way this book ended. Preston is an amazing author, though!
