Keeper of the Lost Cities Summary

Keeper of the Lost Cities - A New York Times bestselling series
A USA TODAY bestselling series
A California Young Reader Medal–winning series

In this riveting series opener, a telepathic girl must figure out why she is the key to her brand-new world before the wrong person finds the answer first.

Twelve-year-old Sophie has never quite fit into her life. She’s skipped multiple grades and doesn’t really connect with the older kids at school, but she’s not comfortable with her family, either. The reason? Sophie’s a Telepath, someone who can read minds. No one knows her secret—at least, that’s what she thinks…

But the day Sophie meets Fitz, a mysterious (and adorable) boy, she learns she’s not alone. He’s a Telepath too, and it turns out the reason she has never felt at home is that, well…she isn’t. Fitz opens Sophie’s eyes to a shocking truth, and she is forced to leave behind her family for a new life in a place that is vastly different from what she has ever known.

But Sophie still has secrets, and they’re buried deep in her memory for good reason: The answers are dangerous and in high-demand. What is her true identity, and why was she hidden among humans? The truth could mean life or death—and time is running out.

Camo_Queen9198, I agree with you completely! The genres are: Mystery Drama Romance Laughter I love the KOTLC series! My fav characters are Sophie and Biana. Specifics: -this book would probably be for ages 9+ because it’s pretty big and hard. Also romance isn’t the best choice for younger kids. -I love the story! My niece (7 years old) thinks she’s a Telepath and a Vanisher now! -This is for you, Shannon Messenger: Can you do a book from Keefe’s perspective? Also, can Sophie and Fitz get married in your next book? Pls make sure to say tuned for more ReviewQueen👑 reviews! If you see one of my reviews somewhere, review the same book and say that you read my review!

I love the book. There. I said it. Now to review it. Okay so a lot of people say it’s a Cheap Harry Potter. Harry Potter is the cheap book. I really like this book the characters have inspired me in so many ways and have taught me to be more self confident. I like how its written casually and not over the top. Also please note that my real name means Elizabeth in another language. Also I’m glad Shannon won’t pair Sophie up with a BF. (I saw her on a book tour and she said Sophie would always be single)

I’ve read so many books in my life. This is not another Harry Potter. This is something even better. If you’ve read the book, you know. Just read it. KOTLC is so good. Comes close to the best book ever and is the best series I have read hands-down. FYI, I am Foster-Keene for life. But if Fitz stays good, then Sofitz could be okay. Whatever, just read this book. You’ll thank yourself forever. Peace, bookworm.

Hello! I’m so obsessed with this jaw dropping book, I only love one series at a time, I only read that series until I’m done no other book getting In the way, so I was reading a series called Warriors from Erin Hunter (so good) and there’s like 75 books or something. My friend from school was like “BRUH PUT THAT BOOK DOWN OR I WILL PUT IT DOWN FOR YOU, READ THIS BOOK ITS SO GOOD PLEASE OR I WILL PESTER YOU!” Yeah I said no at first but then I gave in and said “fine” and now I’m like so obsessed with it so I recommend this book! ( GO FITZ!!)

I absolutely LOVED this book. Ok so I’m a little weird but, my favorite books have always been (if you haven’t read this book stop reading this review now) ones where someone is kidnapped (I know I am weird) and I LOVE basically everything in this book. I’ve read them all and this one is honestly my favorite. I also love the second one (I am a sokeefe fan) I LOVEEEE KEEFE! Team Keefe for life! Anyways, back on track overall this is an amazing book and I am not sure I will ever find a book as good.

I read the first keeper of the lost cities book when I was 8 years old—almost five years ago. I still have my old, beat-up signed copy of the first book, filled with tiny footnotes and annotations my eight-year-old self passionately jotted in the margins. I was-and still am, to be honest—obsessed with the series. I’m 12 now, and an aspiring writer. Keeper of the lost cities was the first time I really considered writing books myself. All my favorite fantasy books—Harry Potter and The Hobbit, to name a few—were written in a fashion I can only describe as “old-timey”. My idea of a writer was some old person living on a hillside, writing on yellowed parchment with a quill pen (Okay, maybe I was a bit weird as a kid). Sophie’s inner narrative and way of thinking seemed relatable in ways that previous books hadn’t. I was, to say the least, inspired. Keeper of the Lost Cities has changed the way I view the world. It’s safe to say that I would never have become the person I am today without this phenomenal book. Now that I’m a bit older, I’ve diversified my personal library, but Keeper will always hold a special place in my heart.
