Keeper of the Lost Cities Summary

Keeper of the Lost Cities - A New York Times bestselling series
A USA TODAY bestselling series
A California Young Reader Medal–winning series

In this riveting series opener, a telepathic girl must figure out why she is the key to her brand-new world before the wrong person finds the answer first.

Twelve-year-old Sophie has never quite fit into her life. She’s skipped multiple grades and doesn’t really connect with the older kids at school, but she’s not comfortable with her family, either. The reason? Sophie’s a Telepath, someone who can read minds. No one knows her secret—at least, that’s what she thinks…

But the day Sophie meets Fitz, a mysterious (and adorable) boy, she learns she’s not alone. He’s a Telepath too, and it turns out the reason she has never felt at home is that, well…she isn’t. Fitz opens Sophie’s eyes to a shocking truth, and she is forced to leave behind her family for a new life in a place that is vastly different from what she has ever known.

But Sophie still has secrets, and they’re buried deep in her memory for good reason: The answers are dangerous and in high-demand. What is her true identity, and why was she hidden among humans? The truth could mean life or death—and time is running out.

Keeper of the Lost Cities Review

I absolutely LOVED this book. Ok so I’m a little weird but, my favorite books have always been (if you haven’t read this book stop reading this review now) ones where someone is kidnapped (I know I am weird) and I LOVE basically everything in this book. I’ve read them all and this one is honestly my favorite. I also love the second one (I am a sokeefe fan) I LOVEEEE KEEFE! Team Keefe for life! Anyways, back on track overall this is an amazing book and I am not sure I will ever find a book as good.

I read the first keeper of the lost cities book when I was 8 years old—almost five years ago. I still have my old, beat-up signed copy of the first book, filled with tiny footnotes and annotations my eight-year-old self passionately jotted in the margins. I was-and still am, to be honest—obsessed with the series. I’m 12 now, and an aspiring writer. Keeper of the lost cities was the first time I really considered writing books myself. All my favorite fantasy books—Harry Potter and The Hobbit, to name a few—were written in a fashion I can only describe as “old-timey”. My idea of a writer was some old person living on a hillside, writing on yellowed parchment with a quill pen (Okay, maybe I was a bit weird as a kid). Sophie’s inner narrative and way of thinking seemed relatable in ways that previous books hadn’t. I was, to say the least, inspired. Keeper of the Lost Cities has changed the way I view the world. It’s safe to say that I would never have become the person I am today without this phenomenal book. Now that I’m a bit older, I’ve diversified my personal library, but Keeper will always hold a special place in my heart.

KOTLC has given me more happiness than dance. And I’m a dancer who’s obsessed with dance and does dance 11hrs a week so that’s a lot. Anyway I’m off topic. Anywho, the first book was AMAZING! I will not lie the beginning was confusing but that could be because I read it when I had been dancing but yeah. I recommended this book and it’s official. We’re both Sokeefe shippers. We both love this book and this has been my safe haven*. SHANNON MESSENGER I LOVE KOTLC! *haven=havenfield

Ok, not gonna lie, I LoVED this book crazy. I slipped it on between classes and finished 2 books in 2 days. Amazing plot, and easy to read. If you’re starting on a book other than the first one, don’t worry. The rest cover the whole story up until that one really smoothly. Definitely worth it. Again, I LOVED IT Thank you Shannon!!!!

Honestly, this book series is amazing! The characters feel real, they make mistakes. This is a book series where I can say the main character is my favorite! I mean, just ask anyone who’s read Harry Potter who their favorite character is. I guarantee you, they will not say Harry Potter. Shannon, you are amazing! Keep doing what you are doing! 😍😍😍 Sincerely A SoKeefe Shipper P.S. Tam is da beeeeeest!!

I read this series up through book six a while ago. I recently recommended it to a friend of mine that was bored. Unlike usual, she was obsessed (in a good way) and now here I am rereading this fantastic series so I can talk with her about it. Overall, this is a great read :)
